Bug Description

Binary package hint: f-spot

This is a wishlist item:

It would be great if F-Spot would have an option for deleting images from the original media as they are imported into the library.

There is a patch waiting in the upstream report that we could use.

I guess that patch hasn't been applied yet, as F-spot import still seems to lack the ability to delete pictures from camera on Ubuntu 10.04, with F-Spot 0.6.1.5. This is an important feature for users who don't know how to format their camera. I still install gthumb for those users, but that program lacks some other possibilities.

FYI: Bug 489620 is also talking about this "want-to-have"-feature

F-spot development is "quite" poor. Compared to iPhoto or Picasa it doesn't have much to offer.

I can recommend trying out Picasa (even though it's not native Linux, it runs over Wine officially supported from Google).

F-spot development has picked up! New developers has taken over the project it seems.

This has been fixed in 0.7.1!
