HI, I have attached the gdb file following the instruction you gave to me.

I hope I performed the correct actions.

I noticed that the freeze (not a crash) happens when i do a counter clockwise rotation.

Bye

Does it happen on any image? The gdb log indicates that it exited normaly

Same bug on my Ubuntu Feisty with eog.
It's a very annoying bug because turning a photo and saving it is a common task.

Yes, the same happened to me few times. I rotated by Ctrl-R, so clockwise, usually twice. I want to notice: the file is saved properly, the program freezes after hiding saving progress window. Interface works, I can click it, but nothing happens - engine seems to be dead.
Steps i made:
download the file (jpeg 1-3 mpix color picture works best on Desktop)
rotate it at least twice
save it
try to do anything with eog
please consider if it is not "high importance" bug

I'm having the same problem. I'll have to use something else until this bug is fixed, because as it stands I can't use it to view and rotate pictures from my digital camera. As this is the default picture viewer in Ubuntu, should this be high importance?

Same problem, but freezes just after the first rotation. (or crash)

Here (ArchLinux 2007.05 Duke + Gnome 2.18.2), just switching between a portrait and a landscape image makes the image display freeze (but buttons seem still active). Nor error neither warnings, and the bug has no impact on gdb output.

Hi!
I'm having a similar problem:
- I rotate an image
- I save it
- Programs loads next image
- I rotate it too
- I save it
- Programs loads next image and here comes the freeze
I tried updating eog with pollycoke repo version number 2.19.4 but the only difference is that now after saving image the program closes itself.
Sorry for my bad english, hope these informations will help you fix this bug, this is one of my firsts bug post so if there's something to correct please give me some more detailed instructions on what to do.

do you mean that the next image is loaded automatically after saving the previous one? could you try to get a backtrace if it's crashing?

Hello

The procedure to reproduce the error is as follows:
1. Start EOG
2. Rotate a picture
3. Save the rotated picture
4. Go to the next picture (happens automatically)
5. Do steps 2 to 4 several times
6. After approx. 10 repetitions EOG freezes without an error message

Regards
Ralf
