Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

We have impress crashing often at my work where we are trying to do training [1]. When trying to build debugging packages with instructions from [2] i get issues similar to [3], but this is on dapper.

I was hoping to have debugging packages to run to check whats cuasing impress crashes, but it seems that wont happen.
I'll try and get some output of the build as it works/fails tomorrow.

Might be this bug [1] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/61664

this is an already fixed issue.

the current OOo 2.2.0 packages do build on dapper; we do not support building
the 2.0.4 packages on dapper.

I'm closing this report; 2.2.0 backports are available at

deb http://people.ubuntu.com/~doko/ubuntu/ dapper-backports/

using a repository that's officially unsupported is the only way to get
a working office suit?

the *-updates repositories will never see an upstream version bump.

Karl,

The machine you attempted to download from apparently didn't have internet access or people.ubuntu.com was temporarily down since your log shows:

Err http://people.ubuntu.com dapper-backports/ Packages
  Connection failed

I tested it now and it does seem to work from my machine.

Thanks,

Chris Cheney
