Kubuntu feisty beta won't boot into graphical environment

Bug Description

I downloaded the Kubuntu feisty beta and tried to boot it. It got as far as trying to bring up the graphical environment, but won't. It freezes at a blinking underscore on a black screen.

I tried to type Ctrl-Alt-Fx to get to a prompt and reconfigure X, but I can't get to a prompt. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace doesn't do anything either. The only thing that works is mashing letters and Ctrl-Alt-Del.
