This system is an AMD 64 with a single 500GB SATA hard drive. The system has 4 window partitions and 2 installations of SUSE (10.0 and 10.2) working well. Grub is installed by SUSE from the previous installation of 10.0 and upgraded by 10.2.
I tried installing Ubuntu 5.1 on another older computer having a standard IDE hard dirve with windows and SUSE Linux 10.0 and it updated the Grub well and allowed all three systems to be bootable.
Looking for any possible solutions. Thank you for your help.
My immediate suggestion would be to download the alternate installer CD and then install to a command line. Once you have that, you can apt-get install kubuntu-desktop and have Kubuntu.
