sony vaio fe890 fn key for dimming not working

Bug Description

I have a sony vaio fe 890 with a nVidia 7600 graphics card, 2gb ram, 2ghz intel core duo and 60gb hard drive.

the fn key that I can use in windows to change the screen brightness dose not work. I tried to install fsfn package that is for sony vaio fs series didnt work.
but I can change my screen brightness from the terminal using smartdimmer.

Could you please recheck it with latest Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 or the Live CD?

most recentky I was using 7.04 and the Fn key was not yet working I will try
7.10 from a live CD today.
