Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

On my Feisty system (which is up2date), amarok becomes absolutely silent after some minutes. I mean - I cannot hear my songs anylonger. Other programs which output sound work perfectly (when this happens). If I click on the amaroK icon then, it opens as usual. The song goes on, but I do not hear it. When I change the volume (in amaroK, not the global) it works again. If I start amarok in a terminal, it does not output anything special. I use GNOME.
PS: I'm not quite sure, but I think when this happens, I hear a very short rustling...

If I touch the volume or any other key the sound returns, and then stop again.

my card is a hda-intel with alsa 10.0.6

What engine are you using in Amarok?
You can check that in your Amarok Settings.

I think I remember hearing a while back about a bug similar to this that was caused by Xine closing down its stream after a certain period of time.

wdog and Nicolai, could you please do some stopwatch tests for how long it takes for the sound to cut out (hopefully it's consistent) after you start up Amarok and immediately start playing music?

Thanks
