Bug Description

Binary package hint: xscreensaver

Hi,

when I open the System / Preferences / Screensaver menu, the system crashes with the single option of pressing the reset button.

I have no Desktop Effects enabled, and my single solution was to change the screensaver from BioF to Blank.

Typing the glxgears command has also the same effect.

I think that default screen saver should be changed in order to change this behavior.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from cdimage.ubuntu.com)

If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log?

The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having.

Hi,

I don't own that pc anymore. Anyway I just tried some screensavers on my new
Dell laptop and the seem to work.
