Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdebi
I tried to install VirtualBox in Feisty iwth the .deb binary from their site, here: http://
Virtualbox needs me to accept their license terms, among other things, which requires me to press enter. So the install dialog of gdebi just sat there, because the license terms only appeared in the terminal. The problem is either a) the terminal did not notify me and pop up in the taskbar, like synaptic does with scripts, or b) it needs to be translated from the command line to a GUI dialog somehow, and also notify me.
I'm not sure if this is related to Synaptic's install dialog, but IIRC that does pop up a GUI and notify the system when scripts need your input.
This is somewhat related to the fixed Bug 33944.
Alternate title for this bug:
gdebi install dialogs don't open up the terminal when interaction is needed
