ubuntu search as a quick search

Bug Description

I search the ubuntu site very often so I've added
"http://www.ubuntulinux.org/search?SearchableText=%s" as a "quick search"
bookmark so I can just enter "ubuntu <search term>" when I need to. Thought
this would be a good addition to the default firefox configuration.

I've tried to fix it but I have some problems understanding the resultListStart
and resultItemStart commands. Also most of the current plugins have an update
html link in their source, how are we suppose to set this?

It would be nice to also add search options for the wiki and the forums, but I
would rather have them in the search box than having to type a keyword to search.

http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html?submitform=Find&category=3 has
additional search engines that can be added to firefox quick search. Ubuntu
currently has two listed Ubuntu packages and Ubuntu wiki. Could these be added
as default search engines to Ubuntu's firefox build?

Based on work done at

together some additional default search engines and submit them as a patch to Ian.

Hi David,
did you ever get around to getting the plugins together for inclusion?
if not, do people still want this bug open, or should it be closed?
thanks

This is the OpenSearch of Ubuntu search plugin for the new website based on Drupal. I hope now Alexander can put it on Firefox package.

Actually, I currently tend to not add new search plugins, as there is
no consense nor a policy on what search extensions can go into the
firefox default install.
