All Openoffice(GTK?) Save Dialogs are too small.

Bug Description

The "Save As" dialogs used by openoffice are way too small and makes them user unfriendly. I don't know if this is an openoffice problem or gtk. I'm using feisty.
Firefox uses the same dialogs, but their size is a small bit more appropriate, although still too small.

To reproduce, simply create a blank document in any open office application and select "File" -> "Save As".

Under "Places" in the dialog, only one and a half folders are visible!
In the area where files are displayed, only two files are displayed. The scroll bar is required to see the rest (, or the dialog resized). Either way it is most unfriendly and tedious.

Yes, and I also think it affects all gtk save as dialogues, not only openoffice.org, so another package is affected.

I know that most of the devs use bash and vi, but this dialogue is annoying.
Ok, maybe there are some, who use extremely small screens, but if this is the case a window-height maximum value should be added. But this way as it is now, that you can only see 1 or 2 files in a directory, this window is absolutely unfriendly and useless without resizing it every time; even for those who have small screens !!

I can confirm this bug. Happens with all GTK apps (Gedit, OpenOffice, Scite, etc).

I resize the "Save As" dialog to see better. But when I re-visit the dialog again later, it does not remember the 'resized' size. It goes back to showing up in the small size as before.

I can also confirm that this occurs only when compiz is enabled. With compiz disabled, the dialog remembers its new size next time it opens.

I see that there is no activity on this bug since May 2007. Although it is more of an annoyance than a bug, please address this since users visit the 'Save As' dialog often.
