Bug Description

This bug is for a new source package sphinx-voxforge-en. It is derived from the Voxforge audio corpus, which is licensed under the GPL version 2.

I have built and packaged this so that Ubuntu Touch's HUD can have access to an international English acoustic model (i.e. not just limited to US English).

Ubuntu Version: Raring
Repo: Universe

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1141942/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

This bug is tagged needs-packaging which identifies it as a request for a new package in Ubuntu. As a part of the managing needs-packaging bug reports specification, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Specs/NeedsPackagingBugs, all needs-packaging bug reports have Wishlist importance. Subsequently, I'm setting this bug's status to Wishlist.

This fixes Maintainer:, Standards-Version:, and a typo in the description. However, there are several problems which prevent uploading:

- The original tarball does not have any license document nor any copyright statements.
- There should be a debian/rules get-orig-source rule to construct the original tarball, as this isn't shipped anywhere in this form. (See http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-source.html)
- The short description of the two binary packages is identical

Please re-subscribe ubuntu-sponsors once you have a fixed package.

Thanks!

Martin, I can certainly address two of those comments. In terms of generating the tarball, it was not easy at all. I did it by writing a Python tool to sync the audio files from Voxforge, then configure and run sphinxtrain against them.

See: https://launchpad.net/voxforge-sphinx-train/

Is it possible to add a pointer to this program instead of automated rules? It takes >12 hours of computation time on a 8 core 16GB computer to do it also..

Also, the short descriptions are not identical. One is described as an acoustic model, the other a language model. :)

There is already an (admittedly short) description of where the original tarball comes from in the debian/watch file. Is this information inadequate?

The new tarball has a GPL-v2 COPYING file in it now, and I've applied your other changes, too.
