Binary package hint: procps

Top shows results only for one cpu. Compare with fedora's top, which shows processes running on each cpu.

It's a feisty smp. (the default -server-X86_64 kernel).
It shows the same behavior under vanilla 2.6.21.1 smp

In fact, it's the same on every ubuntu version since breezy.

The only machine I could try that runs Debian Etch:

~$ apt-cache show procps | grep Version
Version: 1:3.2.7-3

Feisty is:
Version: 1:3.2.7-3ubuntu2

As a workaround I suggest using "htop"

Could you paste your idea of what it should look like?

I have no acess to a fedora smp box anymore.

But the idea is:

run top

it tells you the status of cpu0 and cpu1 separetedly, as when there's a processor smashish up only one cpu.

Ubuntu's one does not.

Right, press '1' to see them all :)

RHEL top looks identical to Ubuntu, and I doubt they have a different configuration. Not a bug.
