Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdemultimedia-kio-plugins

Hi,
after I inserted an audio cd, it appears in my device applet on kde kicker bar. If I try to select "eject" command from the menu of the applet I get this error:

unable to find audiocd:/

If I press the tray button the CD ejects smoothly. "eject /dev/cdrom" works.
Maybe it is related to bug 115449.

Regards,
Domi

I can confirm this bug.

When using the Storage Media applet with an audio CD it calls "kio_media_mounthelper -e audiocd:/" and the error message pops up. When doing this with a data CD it calls "kio_media_mounthelper -e /media/cdrom0" which ejects the CD fine.

I can confirm this also in Fiesty.

Tom, where did you find those command calls? Is there a way to manually change which command it calls?

Same thing here on Kubuntu Feisty. Not only the eject command doesn't work, but many other ones you can find in the context menu like play, play with amarok, etc. In short, all the commands that refers to the audiocd:/. Thinks are working fine however with commands/apps configured to use /dev/hdc or media:/hdc

Is this still an issue for anyone in Gutsy (or Hardy)?

I can no longer test since I do not have Kubuntu installed anymore.

Thanks!
