Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 dev with gdm 3.6.1-0ubuntu4 and systemd-services 198-0ubuntu12. Since systemd-logind shall replace consolekit I have removed it. After rebooting my system GDM starts but I'm seeing just its blue background but not the user menu. If I'm installing consolekit again and rebooting the system all is working fine.

I also wanted to add systemd-services to this ticket but curiously the link "Also affects project" doesn't provide an option for me to do this.

gdm will need to be rebuilt against logind to support that. This is being tracked in https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/foundations-1303-consolekit-logind-migration .

This bug was fixed in the package gdm - 3.6.1-0ubuntu5

---------------
gdm (3.6.1-0ubuntu5) saucy; urgency=low

  * Add debian/patches/00git_logind_check.patch: Fix checks for logind.
  * Switch to logind for session tracking. (LP: #1174380)
