Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

When creating a new link to a location, and this location is a folder, the default icon for this link should be a folder -- not a file.

Steps to reproduce:
1: Right click on the desktop.
2: Create New... > Link to location (URL)
3: Enter a location (e.g. /tmp) and press OK.
4: Observe that the icon for this link looks like a file even though it is a link to a folder.

KDE have a default folder for folders.

Solution:
When a user creates a new link, check if the link target is a directory. If so, use "Icon=folder" in the .desktop-file in stead of "Icon=unknown", which is the current behavior.

Please let me know if you need screenshots that illustrate the problem.

I have also experienced this. I agree that it should be fixed.

I see this as well, and find it annoying.

The icon for Intrepid/KDE4 is much better, so this is no longer an issue. Thanks for the bug report!
