Bug Description
First of all this was not an issue in Dapper, however I never used multiple XSessions in Edgy so I don't know if it is a problem that was introduced with Edgy or Feisty.
When I launch a new XSession using `sudo xinit -- :1 -config myconfig` the new XSession starts fine and runs fine on vt8. But if I try and switch back to vt7 (using ctrl+alt+F7) my entire system hangs and remains that way until I do a hard reboot. This error is 100% unrecoverable and 100% reproduceable on 2 systems I own.
Another problem is the requirement to use root in order to even launch the new XSession. I already added the relevant mcookie to xauth for :1 so why will it not allow me to run startx or xinit without sudo? I don't want to run my session as root (for obvious reasons), so please someone explain how to start a second XSession in Ubuntu without being required to use sudo and without it crashing your entire system.
