Bug Description

If mate DE is installed pressing 'power' button results in laptop shutdown no matter what setting is chosen in mate configuration.

The problem comes down to debian/powerbtn.sh which tries to determine if DEs power management is running and it doesn't know about mate.

Very similar issue happens with 'sleep' button. Patch for acpi-support fixes it.

Thanks!

Although I'm not too keen on adding support for desktop environments we don't have in the archive, I see there are others already in the list that we don't carry either.

I've uploaded this fix to saucy.

Hi.

Thank you for having look into this problem and accepting my patch!

Unfortunately patch that you have accepted won't solve issue with 'sleep' button and turning off screen when lid is closed. There's another branch attached to this ticket that solves it but I do not know if that change would negatively affect other DEs. I.e. do other DEs manage screen backlight by themselves or should lid.sh just turn screen off no matter which DE is used?

Thanks!

kolya, you may want to create a new bug for your other patch. These seem like two distinct issues.
