Bug Description

Please backport mtpaint 3.40-1ubuntu1 (universe) from saucy to precise.

Reason for the backport:
========================
mtpaint in Precise LTS is still version 3.31 which did get the suffix alpha-status from it's dev.

changelog: http://mtpaint.sourceforge.net/news.html

changelog in depth: https://github.com/wjaguar/mtPaint/blob/master/NEWS

Version 3.40 offers some exiting changes + it has left the alpha status as declared in the changelog (listing all here would presumeably bubble up this bugreport innessecarily)

since it is provided within he universe-section we'd like to ask to have it backported.

sourcecode: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mtpaint/files/mtpaint/3.40/

It is already packaged in higher versions of Ubuntu (12.10, 13.04, 13.10).

Thanks for helping to make Ubuntu better every day in advance.

Testing:
========
Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.

You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:
$ backportpackage -u ppa:<lp username>/<ppa name> -s saucy -d precise mtpaint

* precise:
[X] Package builds without modification
[X] mtpaint installs cleanly and runs

Reverse dependencies:
=====================
The following reverse-dependencies need to be tested against the new version of mtpaint. For reverse-build-dependencies (-Indep), please test that the package still builds against the new mtpaint. For reverse-dependencies, please test that the version of the package currently in the release still works with the new mtpaint installed. Reverse- Recommends, Suggests, and Enhances don't need to be tested, and are listed for completeness-sake.

This is not a bug as there is no actual problem in the code itself of ubuntu.

Flames_in_Paradise, can you please try the package from my PPA and see if it works on your Precise machine?

Just registered bug #1189190 (man-page located in /man1/man1 instead of /man1)

Since I have reason to believe this is a bytesize bug it would be great to have this fixed simulteaniously?
