Bug Description
The kernel binary image available to download from:
http://
... appears to have COMPAT disabled.
It would be useful to enable this for future releases as, at this stage, being able to run ARMv7 binaries as well as ARMv8 ones helps when running in a mixed file-system environment, or when porting code to the newer architecture. In my case I needed to be able to compare two NEON implementations by stepping through with GDB, but this was not possible with the supplied kernel. Obviously I was able to build my own kernel to enable this, but I think this is useful enough to include by default.

I agree that enabling CONFIG_COMPAT in vexpress64.conf is a good idea.
