Bug Description

Binary package hint: typespeed

Im running gutsy, up-to-date.
I encountered the problem on breezy, dapper, edgy and feisty too.
The manpage of typespeed contains:
<quote>
FILES
       /etc/typespeedrc Config file
       $HOME/.typespeed.rc Personal config file. Overrides the system config
       file

       The config file consists of only one line, which defines the directory
       of typespeed’s data files. It is usually /usr/local/lib/typespeed/.
</quote>
Neither of these three files did exist on any of my systems, nor did i get any instruction, how to write config files, nor how to design data files.

i propose either of these ones:
1. document, how to right config files and how to create data files
2. put example config- and data files into the package
3. delete the FILES section in the manpage
thanks

This feature cannot be used, as explained in the README file (which you can find in /usr/share/doc/typespeed):

If you use /etc/typespeedrc or ~/.typespeedrc to configure typespeed, take
note: The directory for wordfiles (and high score files) are currently hard
coded in the binary, and cannot be changed. This is caused by a little bit of
hacking done to make typespeed conform to Debian policy, namely forcing the
word files and the highscore files to be stored in separate directories.

High score files are stored in /var/games/typespeed and word lists are stored
in /usr/share/games/typespeed.

Adding this (redundantly) to the manual page would mean getting out of sync with Debian, which I don't think is worth for such an issue.

On the basis of this I'm closing this bug report. Please feel free to report it upstream or in the Debian BTS and we will be happy to carry over the change, if implemented.
