Bug Description

On my Dell Latitude D420...

A clean dapper install gave me a working X including autodetected synaptics touchpad with vertical scrolling.

A clean feisty install gives me a semi-working X. No scrolling on the touchpad. No synaptics driver loaded from xorg.conf.

I'll attach both xorg.conf files.

dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg results in attached xorg.conf. I did have to specify i810 instead of vesa myself, and my 1280x800 lcd resolution was not autodetected, but the synaptics touchpad was there.

Thank you very much for the additional information Mark.

I'm able to confirm this bug as well, including the configuration of the driver to the xorg.conf file after reconfuguring xserver-xorg.

Regards,
Justin
