Filing a bug is not the proper process for seeking sponsorship of a package being uploaded. I spoke with Knome earlier and after talking with two different core devs it was explained that since Xubuntu has developers with upload rights that it would be preferred if those devs uploaded the Xubuntu Docs.

Benjamin, filing a bug is an appropriate way to request sponsorship. By filing a bug and subscribing ~ubuntu-sponsors, the request shows up on the sponsoring queue:

@Jeremy,

Thanks for correcting me. Although considering I already checked with two core devs one who happens to be on the Release Team and they felt that since Xubuntu has its own devs with upload rights and that they defer to them then perhaps sponsorship not as a matter of process but preference is not the best route.

Changed in xubuntu-docs (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Ubuntu Sponsors Team (ubuntu-sponsors)

Sponsoring is clearly not the best route for us either. However, due to the amount of uploaders we have and their limited time and availability, we unfortunately need to depend on sponsored uploads much more than we want to.

Yes, we are working on getting more active uploaders in the team, but meanwhile, please bear with us.
