Bug Description

Rationale:

This cycle we introduced a new keyboard indicator which runs in the session, but does not currently run in unity-greeter without the proposed bug fix.

The reason we should be using the new indicator is because the method of storing the user's keyboard layouts has been changed this cycle, and the new indicator already reads those settings from their proper location. Continued use of the old indicator would require the user to maintain two separate keyboard layout lists.

indicator-keyboard has been in the main archive for over a month now, and has undergone significant testing before that. Testing under the greeter consisted of creating multiple user accounts with different sets of keyboard layouts, and typing into the Remote Login user name entry to confirm that the keyboard layout switches properly in every case.

I've recently uploaded the package to https://launchpad.net/~attente/+archive/indicator-keyboard.

It seems, that unity-greeter in Ubuntu 13.10 do not react on keyboard layout change hotkeys - Super+Space and Shift+Super+Space (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1245137), Alt+Shift (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1245258) and Ctrl+Shift (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1245268). I have proposed updates enabled.
