Gwibber not updating from facebook [not "refreshing"]

Bug Description

As of 3rd[2nd?] October Gwibber has stopped recieving updates from Facebook.
It appears if a Facebook a/c is in Gwibber it will not even show "Refreshing" at bottom of app even if requested from menu.
I can find nothing notifying of an API change when web searching or FB searching.

My attempts to fix include:

all components removed - reinstalled after restart - restarted after reinstall
- zero access to facebook apart from an "add"
[tried the usual usual add a/c process, no a/c showing as added in Gwibber - which shows on facebook as authorised]

it is as if Gwibber had regressed to earlier version.

I tried setting up facebook on a clean 12.04 system (in a VM) and it went through the web auth process, but the account never shows up in gwibber. I see no errors from gwibber-service either.
See screenshot after I authed facebook.
