Your sync is going to drop these changes:

gtkpod (0.99.8-3ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * Merge from debian unstable, remaining changes:
    - debian/patches/01_mount_to_media_directory.dpatch:
the ipod is mounted to media not mnt, move the changes to a proper
      patch
    - debian/patches/02-japanese_charset.dpatch:
updated and forwarded upstream (gtkpod bug #1615299), if you have
comments on the patch you can post them upstream
    - debian/patches/03_fix_compilation_with_latest_libgpod.dpatch:
patch taken from Debian to fix the build with gpod 0.4.2

Patch 02 has been applied in upstream. I will check if patches 01 and 03 are necessary, and if they are, I will change this bug from sync to merge.

Maia Everett (linneris) wrote :

Neither of these changes are now necessary. Patch 01 is in Debian (it's not a dpatch, but the necessary changes are still there), while patch 03 has become obsolete with libgpod 0.5.2.

However, since libgpod-dev 0.5.2 is not yet in Ubuntu or Debian, and it is in build-depends for the Debian package, the sync will have to wait until bug #124982 is closed.

Actually, disregard this comment about the (now invalid) bug #124982.

libgpod 0.5.2 has been accepted into Debian unstable:

http://packages.qa.debian.org/libg/libgpod.html
http://packages.qa.debian.org/libg/libgpod/news/20070709T221625Z.html

After it appears in the archive, it will be ready for syncing alongside gtkpod 0.99.10.

Build tests for packages depending on libgpod1 (libgpod 0.4.2), when linking against libgpod-dev 0.5.2-2:

gtkpod - OK (Debian version 0.99.10)
gtkpod-aac - this one will have to be repackaged, based on the Debian package for gtkpod 0.99.10
libgpod-common - OK (part of libgpod)
libgpod-dev - OK (part of libgpod)
python-gpod - OK (part of libgpod)
rhythmbox - OK
amarok - OK
kipi-plugins - ? (can't test with my configuration, somebody else should test it)

Actually, libgpod 0.5.2 is already in Gutsy, it just hasn't built due to unmet deps, which Daniel has dealt with by filing a MIR for Mutagen. I'm setting the libgpod report to Invalid.

Readjusting the status of the libgpod task to Fix Committed, as the updated library has been committed to gutsy, but due to the aforementioned FTBFS, is not yet released (and so none of the remaining dependent packages should yet be sync'd or rebuilt.

Okay, I'm happy now for gtkpod to be sync'd from unstable, so I'm setting this to Confirmed and subscribing ubuntu-archive.

I have also uploaded a rebuild for kipi-plugins to the archive, so I'll set that to Fix Commited, and since the new libgpod has built and hit the archive, I'll set that to Fix Released.
