Thanks for reporting this bug. I haven't managed to reproduce the problem, but I tried to come up with a solution/patch.
Could you please try the patch I attached and let me know whether it works?

appears to have no effect on this
odd that you cant reproduce it, i have the issue on 13.10 and 14.04
the ubuntu-bug command will bring a a window with the issue

BTW i just saw a warning/error message when starting a GTK3 app, on line 2597, there is a extra comma before the opening bracket (the file you made that patch for)

also bluebird is giving me this warning
(apport-gtk:1956): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: gtk-widgets.css:3274:48: Expected ',' in color definition

Ok, took another look and this time I'm pretty sure I found the culprit.

ok, thanks now it is usable, but the tree row that is selected is smaller than the non-selected row
is that a feature or a bug?

Just a reminder that the UI freeze for ubuntu 14.04 is about 5 weeks away (March 13)

back on topic perhaps a size of 9 or 10 will match the other size and be close enough
since there appears to be nothing in the css to set the selected rows size perhaps the line could be removed to change it to the default size
i could come up with a better fix if there was a equivalent firebug for the DE

Thanks for the reminder :)
There is indeed something like firebug for Gtk+, it's called gtkparasite, you can find it on github.

I'm currently busy with a lot of other projects that need fixes/releases before the freezes come, so if you can come up with a patch, that'd be great. (Not saying I won't fix this at all, it's just very far down on my priorities-list)

Thanks, i have wanted something like that for ages
have a 64bit executable file i can get and any list of dependences i will need
looks like i need a GB worth of stuff to compile it and my virtualbox i use for compiling is about out of space

any idea how to get it to work? it works with file-roller
~$ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/gtk-3.0/modules GTK_MODULES=gtkparasite update-manager
Fatal Python error: PyThreadState_Get: no current thread
Aborted (core dumped)

even if you don't get around to finishing this bug, the current version of albatross is better than the current version in ubuntu 14.04

The smaller indicator on selected rows does tno appear to have any effect on the clickable region
i managed to get gtkparasie to work on transmission, any download with folders will have the gtk treeview arrows

I tried to just remove the line, but the size-change still happens. It might just be a bug in gtk3...

Since the original bug is tackled and only this small visual annoyance is left, I'd tend to set this to "Wont Fix" or "Fix released", unless you strongly disagree.

It's a usability issue that doesn't limit the functionality of a core package.
