Unity sometimes gets stuck between two scopes

Bug Description
A couple of times now with image 29 on mako I have managed to get the unity main screen stuck between home and applications scopes.
Not quite sure what triggers it, but I know on one occasion I did a search on the home scope then realised my mistake and (while search still running) swiped across to applications scope, and it stopped part way through (see screenshot).
Unity doesn't crash, it just sticks. I can unstick it with a swipe.
