does it help if you make sure that the mentioned file is readable by the apt-cacher-ng user?

I did comment out the Remap-gentoo linei n acng.conf (kind of odd that this would be enabled on an Ubuntu system?)

Hm. Odd.

Why would this be odd? You don't like an Ubuntu host serving clients
that do not run Ubuntu? ;-)

Here's what I get in trusty

$ sudo service apt-cacher-ng restart

I also disabled the gentoo backend for now

There is a fixed version in Debian Incoming. Also fixes the "delete all
selected" link from the other launchpad issue.

Eduard.

Eduard, thank you, that is good to hear. I'm afraid it will be too late to sync that package to trusty. Is a minimal patch available in your git somewhere?

Furthermore, that changelog entry appears twice, for 0.8.0~pre1-1 and 0.8.0~pre1-1. Something looks wrong.
