Tapping lower-right corner of touchpad causes a right-click

Bug Description

I have tapping set off in touchpad settings. Despite this, it seems that tapping the lower right corner of the touchpad does a right-click. The bug happens in multiple machines, but is a bit unreliable to trigger: maybe it requires some exact spot, tapping length, or tapping force on the touchpad to happen.

I can disable Tap touchpad to click, it works only for left-click behavior, but not to right-click behavior.

As of now disabling tap to click does not affect the corner button actions.

$ synclient -l | grep -i cornerbutton

I have uploaded a patched version to https://launchpad.net/~thad-fisch/+archive/test for testing purpose. You will have to restart your session and maybe toggle the Tap to Click option once to apply the new settings.

I'm unable to reproduce this error. Maybe someone fixed it in the upstream?

I can confirm this is still an issue.

I'm using a Lenovo W550s, fairly recent install of Xubuntu 15.04 (see attached ubuntu-bug output).

The xfconf pointers xml file had explicit values for these options in the synaptics tap action property, which presumably were copied from some initial configuration, but I can't track down the origin of those values (RT=2, RB=3).

Strangely, it appears xserver-xorg-input-synaptics disables corner tapping by default, and xfce4-settings never touches the value, so arguably this bug isn't really xfce4-settings' fault, but I really don't know who else to blame ;-)

And while we're on the topic, I suppose the tap and drag gesture should probably also be disabled when disabling tap click?
