Bug Description

14.04 (Trusty) now has gedit 3.10.1 and GTK 3.10.6. With these versions of gedit and GTK, the file browser in the sidebar (enabled via Edit->Preferences->Plugins->File Browser Panel) has a toolbar with a dark background color in the default Ambiance theme. This looks poor (see attached screenshot).

Sebastien: I just tried ubuntu-themes from Lars's branch as you suggested. Unfortunately it had no effect on the file browser toolbar color.

The problem is that that toolbar is marked as a primary toolbar, which ambiance colors dark. I've removed that in gedit upstream[1]. I'll backport the patch when it is accepted.

Adolfo, why did you delete the ubuntu-themes line? There is a side of the fix in the themes, see https://code.launchpad.net/~larsu/ubuntu-themes/gedit-fixes/+merge/201212
