Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Dear all,

I found an installer crash when on a Windows Vista Ultimate host machine, by means of the package MS Virtual PC 2007 I was creating an Unbuntu virtual machine (to do so a an ISO image of a CD with version 6.06 LTS was used --> file "ubuntu-6.06.1-desktop-i386.iso").

After loading the Gnome desktop from the ISO image I asked for an install of the Ubuntu system on the virtual disk. After some time it appeared the window "Installer crashed" with the information that follows:

**********************************************************************************************************************
Traceback (most recent call last):

File “usr/bin/ubiquity”, line 130, in ?
 install(sys.argv[1])
File “usr/bin/ubiquity”, line 55, in install

OSError:[Errnº 2] No such file or directory: ‘/target/usr/lib/openoffice/help’

***********************************************************************************************************************

I was not able to catch the log files indicated on the message because any pen drive was not recognized within the virtual ubuntu system when plugged, no Internet connection was available, and to be honest -unfortunately, I am a beginner-, I did not think about any other trick to get them!

I hope this helps and do not hesitate to contact with me.
Regards,

Josep
