Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

When starting oowriter from a shell, I get:

$ oowriter
(process:12064): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.13.7/gobject/gtype.c:2242: initialization assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function
(process:12064): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed
(process:12064): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_screen_get_font_options: assertion `GDK_IS_SCREEN (screen)' failed

The startup-splash screen is displayed, after that nothing ever happens.
I see that "oowriter" spawned "ooqstart", and I also see several soffice.bin processes:

$ ps auxww|grep soff
hildeb 12050 0.0 0.0 1660 508 pts/2 S+ 10:19 0:00 /bin/sh /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice -writer -splash-pipe=5
hildeb 12064 93.3 6.0 169460 62812 pts/2 Rl+ 10:19 1:35 /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin -writer -splash-pipe=5

12064 is hogging the CPU. strace-ing it results in:
$ strace -p 12064
Process 12064 attached - interrupt to quit
 ... jup, no output! ...
