Bug Description

Stranded. No MS Window XP, No Feisty Fawn, I thought I would get interactive community group. I need to get my computer up and running. I think xp is looking better than this. I restarted the machine as instructed by the install program. On reboot the machine wanted to run from the dvd drive. It gave an error 2 message after stage 1.5 of Grub. Now what? This sad joke. I had heard that there are no problems with installing unbuntu. I trusted the hype of associates and media. no point in saying there is no trust now. I have to send this machine to the shop and that is not free. community support? I do not consider an automated email system community support. Thank you very much.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release?

If so, can you try to boot your system using a LiveCD and "Boot from hard disk" option. Then, could you please attach /var/log/installer/syslog, /var/log/installer/partman, and /boot/grub/menu.lst to this bug.

Thanks in advance.
