'Import photos' does not import photos

Bug Description
Binary package hint: gthumb
The dialog presented when a camera (or in my case camera's SD memory card) is connected offers to 'Import Photos' but selecting this option does not import anything - it just opens the media.
either:
a.) this specific to me and my setup or/
b.) this a UI issue
If this is an UI issue then I suggest that:
1st. The text be changed to 'View Photos' or somthing similar.
2nd. Work begin on an import function. It would only have to ask for a location and offer an 'Always use this destination' check box.
