Bug Description
Upstream is 3.12.4, Debian is 3.12.4-1, Ubuntu is 3.8.6-0ubuntu12
empathy 3.12 brings in many bug fixes over 3.8.6 that is currently in utopic, this update was somehow overlooked earlier however it does not use GtkHeaderBars and CSD's so from a UI perspective would be fine for ubuntu-desktop.
We have had this release on the gnome3 ppa's for the best part of a cycle and there are no major issues with it. In the last few days a few of the -desktop team have played around with it also and not found any critical issues.

My Linked branch is Jacksons merge with the disabled patches refreshed/dropped as required.
There is one bug however, that seems to be a gtk theming issue that only affects adwaita (Ubuntu GNOME default theme)
in empathy-accounts, when adding a new account, the username field is not displaying the error-highlight or any typed text. Once empathy thinks have typed a valid username, things are displayed correct again. This seems to be fixed in gtk 3.14, but haven't been able to track down the fix yet.
