Bug Description

I upgrade my system from 12.04 to 14.04 and when i try connect from ftp client i see error :
libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work

I use mysql for auth users. This config work from ubuntu 8.04. I only add small changed for work with new version 3.0.2 like (allow_writeable_chroot=YES) for example.

I find resolve this problem on the sites:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2218804
http://askubuntu.com/questions/126625/libgcc-s-so-1-must-be-installed-for-pthread-cancel-to-work

I install patched version vsftpd from link (see above) and hold upgrade in aptitude.

Now work fine.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

This patch should be submitted upstream, assuming it is appropriate to go upstream and isn't already fixed or reported there. If it is not appropriate to send it upstream, then we need a very good justification of why Ubuntu should diverge from upstream by carrying this patch.
