I'm running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn on an Intel based iMac with ATIgraphics card, I'm using fglrx as a drive an am running a custom compiled Linux 2.6.22.1 I don't think this has an influence though since I noticed the problem prior to the upgrade and will verify after my next reboot. I'm using the OpenGL output module of VLC and hardware acceleration is working (verified today with xmoto and Nexuiz)
VLC is version 0.8.6 from the Ubuntu repositries.

I can verify that this also happens on my Hardy box, running 2.6.24-21-generic (x86_64). The factors that seem to trigger this is using the proprietary ATI driver, and using VLCs opengl output module. Use any other, and it'll load up fine but will give me horrible tearing issues. Is this an issue with VLC, or with fglrx?
