The application was "loading" for almost ten minutes, then died.

No, it seems not to be reproduceable.

After a quick "sudo aptitude remove firefox && sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude install firefox" everything seems now to work quite fine.

At the moment when the error occured I had no extensions/ plugins installed - just the "normal" ubuntu installation of Firefox using "sudo aptitude install firefox".

We have not received any duplicates for some time. Thus, this crash was likely due to some unique plugin extension combination or has been fixed in the meantime. Please, reopen it at any time if you have more related info.
