Bug Description

Hello,

Please support configuration files in /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/ and /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/, or lightdm-gtk-greeter.d for that matter, though since you parse for [greeter] it'd make sense to support the same config dirs as lightdm, no?

If you wanted full support, it'd be /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm(-gtk-greeter).conf.d/* → /etc/lightdm/lightdm(gtk-greeter).conf.d/* → /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf in terms of priority.

What's the advantages of using multiple configuration files for greeter (real usage case)?

One such advantage is being able to ship config in packages, xubuntu-default-settings ships some for lightdm in /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/60-xubuntu.conf, or Xubuntu wouldn't have to use the alternatives system for two examples.

Sounds sane, except using lightdm.conf.d as conf directory. It's can be a little confusing - mixing greeter and lightdm configurations files.
I think lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.d is much better.

Hi,

Thanks for this feature. One question - is /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.d/ dir supported along with /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf.d one? I would really like to keep my custom greeter settings there, thus avoiding these annoying keep/overwrite questions on any new greeter upgrade.
