Placing a script under /etc/pm/sleep.d to stop and restart autofs on suspend/resume will resolve the issue.

Hello Chris and sorry for not replying to this bug report back when it was filed. As of today it's an "old bug": none of the releases which were supported in 2015 is supported today. Should anybody be hitting an issue that fits with the description of this bug, my suggestion is to file a new bug report, as most likely it will be a different issue. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively": http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html.

I'm marking this bug report as Incomplete for the moment. Should anybody disagree with the above please comment back and change the bug status back to New, we'll look at it again. Thanks!
