Hello and thank you for filing this bug report.

12.04 is now EOL, are you able to reproduce this on 14.04?

It appears that the issue is actually a configuration one, in that you edited /etc/default/beanstalkd and are unable to start beanstalk as a result. Given:

BEANSTALKD_LISTEN_ADDR=0.0.0.0
BEANSTALKD_LISTEN_PORT=11300
BEANSTALKD_FILESIZE=100000
DAEMON_OPTS="-l $BEANSTALKD_LISTEN_ADDR -p $BEANSTALKD_LISTEN_PORT -z $BEANSTALKD_FILESIZE"

It makes sense to try and run beanstalkd with those options and see why/if it fails.
