Bug Description

Added a PPA with add-apt-repository, and the public key seemed to be successfully imported. The key file does exist, and its path is:

/etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/ubuntu-se_ubuntu_netid.gpg

However, when trying to install a package from the PPA with apt-get, I got the warning message "The following packages cannot be authenticated!"

This happened in vivid. In utopic I can successfully install from the same PPA, and with the same public key, so the issue seems to be vivid specific.

Attached please find the related terminal output.

This seems specific to the particular PPA so may be an issue with Launchpad or the key on keyserver.ubuntu.com.

So it seems, Brian. Thanks!

In my Vivid installation I switched to utopic:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/gunnarhj/misc/ubuntu utopic main

Then I could successfully install the utopic package without any complaints. So I made a no-change rebuild of the vivid package, and now evertything seems to work.

I don't know what caused the problem. The only thing I can tell is that the previous version of the vivid package was the first build ever in the PPA.

@Joakim: Can you make a new attempt? If it works for you, I'm inclined to simply close this bug report.
