WiFi won't connect correctly

Bug Description

Newbie to Linux
Using Ubuntu 7.04
Dell Inspiron 6400
Broadcom Wireless
Dell Wireless Card 1390
Card Activated
WiFi Light on
Can scan networks.
But all connections have same ESSID, even when they don't.
Can't choose Home Network, don't even know how.
And Home network has WPA.
Getting annoyed. HELP!!!!!.....Any Ideas, windows is alot easier.
Worst part is, I'm a 10 IT Tech, UGH...ugh.
