Bug Description

Hello,

When I tried to enable 3D effect I got a message saying "The Composite extension is not available". So I modified my xorg.conf to enable the composite extension and I tried to enable 3D effects again. But I had a message saying "Desktop effects could not be be enabled".

It seems to mean that Compiz Fusion isn't compatible with the ATI Radeon 9550 videocard but the 3D effects worked well when I first installed Gusty and now it doesn't work anymore.

The bug I encountered is very similar to the one numbered #96667 but my videocard is an ATI Radeon 9550 and I've installed and updated Gusty on my computer.

Bye.

This looks like a duplicate of bug #133371?

I don't know why I didn't see the bug #133371 when I searched for...

But in this bug it is said that the Radeon don't work with Compiz at all whereas I'm almost sure that it worked for me before all the updates and some people in the Ubuntu-fr forum seem to confirm it.
