Bug Description
Binary package hint: debian-installer
Using the feisty alternate CD to upgrade a PC with a Software-RAID as /
the raid can be mounted ok, i can use ls on the console and see its contents.
The installer stopped at chroot /target mount -t proc proc /proc
i went to console 2 and tried
chroot /target
there myself and got a segmentation fault.
i tried
mkdir /test
mount /dev/md1 /test
chroot /test
and i got the same result: raid was mounted ok on /test, but i get a segmentation fault trying chroot
i assume it is not exactly the same as https:/

To post a comment you must log in.
i have now downloaded the 7.04 alternate CD in the hope of being able to install with this.
installer crashes at the same point.
on console 4 i now see something i think i saw at 7.10 as well:
apt-install: Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-lookup.c: 232: _dl_lookup_ symbol_ x: Assertion `version == ((void *)0) || (flags & ˜(DL_LOOKUP_ ADD_DEPENDENCY) ) == 0`failed!
and as by now i have my macbook online to write this while still seeing the errormsgs on the other computer i ill quote the rest as well:
debootstrap: Segmentation fault debootstrap- failed
base-installer: error: exiting on error base-installer/
that being said i get the same segmentation fault trying to do a
chroot /target
by hand as in 7.10
