Optimization fail with "Syntax error in script"

Bug Description

Binary package hint: hugin

I've selected 2 images, found as many points as necesassary for creating a panorama, then switched to "Optimizer" tab, choose an optimization type and all i've got is "Syntax error in script: Line 5 Could not assign variable". The same appens no matter what kind of optimization is choosen.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you?, Can you please try with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron?

  Hi! Yes, this bug it's still an issue for me. I've downloaded the
HH live CD, but seems that hugin it's not available. I've also tried
with aptitude install, but seems there was some network error. I can
try again, if it can be useful.
  If you need any other information, just let me know.

  Ok. I've tried the hugin version that comes with the Hardy
Heron release and all seems ok. No more error message. The only
difference it's that the version installed in my usual ubuntu box is
localized (in italian), and the one i've tried it's in english. No idea
if this may be of some relief.

Thanks for the confirmation, if you start the livecd with Italian selected as language, you'll probably see those messages and menus localized. I'm closing this report due your last comment about being fixed in the development version of Ubuntu.
