Bug Description

Currently the Groovy package depends on default-jre-headless (openjdk-7-jre-headless) but I think it would also run on openjdk-8-jre-headless or (even better) on the generic java7-runtime-headless (which allows future Java 7 compatible runtimes) . Could you allow this as an alternative?

In Cosmic, grooby pulls in default-jre-headless which depends on openjdk-11-jre-headless, so it looks like we are ok there. Same in Bionic.

Artful and xenial pull in openjdk-8-jre-headless, which is what this bug requests.

Trusty is the one pulling in openjdk-7-jre-headless.

I doubt such a dependency change would be accepted for our oldest LTS at this point, and considering it's already pulling in more recent jdk versions in the later LTS releases, I'm going to mark this bug as fix released.
