Don't know whether gnome panel (whatever that is) using Ubuntu 7.10 beta on printing on hpdeskjet 3550 get error message saying other.

Thank you for your bug. gnome-panel has nothing to do with printing. What application do you use? What do you mean by "message saying other"? Do you have a error dialog with that written in it? Could you make a screenshot of the issue?

Dear Sebastien,
Am a layman at this, took a shot at trying the beta version as I saw that label on the site saying could help by installing. I was printing from a doc attachment file in mail downloaded by thunderbird. It was the printer icon that showed an error message saying other. I looked at what details I could throug the icon and saw the printer status as 'processin' for the print job.
The one other thing is that I was on another workspace (isn't that the term for another desktop?) since the other one was working on add and remove programmes which had not completed. After the error I went and looked whether that had completed - it had not. The icon showed an X mark and there was nothing else I could do put try and put off the flashing light which never goes off on an error whatever the opearting system.
If it repeats I could probably report it - don't know how to provide you a screen shot!
