need to add "options snd-hda-intel model=auto" to alsa-base on Sony Vaio VGN-TZ190N

Bug Description

With Gutsy, sound does not work on my Sony Vaio VGN-TZ190N laptop, unless I add to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base the option:

  options snd-hda-intel model=auto

I first read this in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=514292

Adding this option is annoying, as it means that sound doesn't work on the laptop with a standard gutsy install, and that when there are changes to alsa-base, I need to manually update the file.

Hi Steve,

You mentioned this is an issue with Gutsy. Have you also tested with a Hardy Alpha release? Just curious if the issue still exists. Thanks.

I just upgraded this laptop to today's Hardy. I replaced this config file with the default one. Sound works fine.

So, for me, this bug is fixed in Hardy.
